Forbidden
"Forbidden has a lot of action and romance that kept me on the edge of my seat until I was done . . . The sex in the story is passionate and hot; you can almost feel how much they need each other. I was captivated by this story, and will be looking for more from this gifted author." - 4 Hearts, Julia, The Romance Studio
"Ms. Karland has taken great risks to mix elements of sizzling erotic romance with the gruesome nightmares of war . . . This intoxicating book contains an extraordinaire love story that will capture the heart of the reader right from the beginning." - 5, Frauke, Mon Boudoir
"Forbidden will make readers run the gamut of emotions: sorrow, relief, anger, and at times laugh with giddiness. Its a roller coaster read, one you wont want to let go of until it ends . . . A good book and a fast read, the intimacy within its pages scorches the senses . . . Forbidden is not a book to read late at night or when alone, but its great fuel for fantasies, and an entertaining read." - D S Shadows, Romance Reviews Today

Sealed With A Kiss
"Candy Hearts #2: Sealed With a Kiss is a fast paced, charming, futuristic romance... Marie is a tell-it-like-it-is, feisty and strong willed woman, while Daxon is a sneaky and determined alien. The chemistry as well as the sex between them just sizzles... I really enjoyed how Daxon provokes Marie, which unfortunately for him, always seems to back fire making him look like a jerk. I love how Marie stands up to Daxon when he is caught. It gave me the giggles...An enjoyable short story for an intergalactic Valentines. Thanks Ms. Karland!" - 4.5 Stars, Tallyn Porter, JERR
"Sealed With A Kiss is a quick but entertaining addition to the Candy Hearts series. The passion between Marie and Daxon runs hot, and when the two of them finally get together its sizzling. If you are looking for something to get you into the Valentines Day mood all over again, dont miss Sealed With A Kiss." - Jennifer Bishop, Romance Reviews Today
"Sealed with a Kiss is a great story with humor, conflict and hot sex. The reader will feel Maries frustration, but also understand Daxons reasons for avoiding her. The end of the story was very satisfying. I really enjoyed this story. I hope Marteeka Karland revisits Marie and Daxon in a future book." - 5 Cups, Candy, Coffee Time Romance
"Alluringly sensual and irresistible amusing this story has all you need for a great time of reading pleasure. Ms. Karland has written a charming Valentine tale you cant nothing else do as to be enchanted by. Never was kissing so promising, arousing and wicked! Its great to read what for a hot piece of male is hidden beneath an almost icy, superior attitude and how Marie unknowingly, but nethertheless oh so delightful turns tables on him and his custom of kissing." - Frauke, Mon Budoir
"This was a fun, hot story! And I will be looking to see if there are more available from this author. I loved her sense of humor - the tone of most of this story is sharp, sarcastic humor. The heroine is strong and goes after what she wants. The hero, naturally, is TDH (although his hair is a purplish shade of red *g*). [TDH = tall, dark and handsome]
"This is erotic romance, and the language is unapologetically earthy and blunt. Sometimes when I read erotic romance, I feel like the tone is just too crude, or used more to shock. But - in my opinion - the language fit the story and the individuals, as well as the genre. Of course, I grew up with a houseful of brothers - one of whom now drives a 18-wheeler rig - so my opinion of what's acceptable and yours may be different *g*.
"The story is a sci-fi/futuristic, with an Earth woman - Marie - serving as an engineer on a 2-man ship that's doing a month-long supply run. She's been frustrated with her trip because the captain, Daxon, who she describes as "the tastiest piece of eye chocolate a girl could ever feast her eyes on" (I loved that line), has been running her ragged throughout the voyage. He'd given her a scorching kiss the day he'd hired her, and then never touched her again! She figured after that kiss the trip would be a combination of business and pleasure.
"What she doesn't know is that he keeps her busy to avoid being distracted by her - the space they travel is dangerous and he can't afford to be playing kissy face with his engineer when he should be "watching the road". He's just as turned on as she is and is counting the minutes until the ship docks so they can act on their attraction and have a little fun *g*.
"When the ship finally lands, these two combust! The sex was heated and frenzied and Daxon can come set my bedroom on fire any time he wants *g*.
"I think it's tough to fit a realistic HEA (happily-ever-after) ending in a short story - there just isn't enough time to set it up most of the time. But the reader knows these two people have spent a month in very close quarters - even if they were both in a state of perpetual, grumpy arousal! So the reader is free to assume that a lot of the day-to-day getting-to-know-you stuff was done in the part of the voyage you didn't "see". The HEA didn't feel too forced in this setting.
"So if you're looking for a futuristic romance that will make you smirk and that will rev your engines, I'd recommend you take a look at this short story." - Reader Comment
"Marteeka Karland has created a rich, sensual story. Though brief, it hits all the points of a great erotic romance. I was snickering while reading about Daxon creating the problems in order to keep him away from Marie. The writing is crisp, clear, and arousing without being too forceful, which is fantastic. I felt a great transition from the physical buildup to the emotional, which, though short, did give me a satisfied feeling. What a terrific addition to this Valentine's Day series." - 7.75 Gargoyles, Cyndi Watkus, In the Library Reviews
"This is one of the best short stories I have read. It was quite enjoyable with two characters that are fun and have great interchanges. Marie is blunt and very vocal in expressing herself. She is a very strong willed woman and I loved it! Daxon is a red-haired-violet eyed giant, how could you not love that? A man with violet eyes... This story can easily be read while doing the laundry or at lunch time. It is paced nicely and the ending is sweet enough for the most jaded of Valentine's Day naysayer." - Cupid Plot Factor: 5, Cupid Pleasure Factor: 5, Marina, Cupid's Library Reviews
"This is a really short story and can be read in very little time. The chemistry between Daxon and Marie is explosive. This couple is made for each other. The love scenes are hot and intense and this couple burns up the sheets. This is the first book I have read by Markeeta Karland, but I will definitely be on the lookout for more of her work." - 4 Hearts, Angel Brewer, The Romance Studio
Forbidden 2: Neighborhood Watch
"In Forbidden 2: Neighborhood Watch there is some jealousy that Mikkarn and Kiril have to work out before they can approach Mara with a relationship, and Mara seems to be more attracted to Mikkarn at first than Kiril. I was glad to see that this seems to work itself out as the book progresses, and they all seem to be equal by the end. Mikkarn and Kiril soon discover that there is another facet of their life-long relationship that they have never realized. There is a lot of sex in this story, some m/m and threesomes, but it is integral to the story and doesn't seem to be gratuitous. Mara is a strong personality, and doesn't let go easily in this story. I had a good time reading Forbidden 2: Neighborhood Watch and it's definitely one I will be keeping in my read again file." - 4 Hearts, Julia, The Romance Studio
"FORBIDDEN 2:NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH, is spicy and intriguing as three strong willed people fight their attraction for each other. I loved how Ms Karland created a world where the differences between Earth and Gothe'Mar are outweighed by the similarities. I cannot wait to read more from this world and I urge you to click on over to Changeling Press and download your own copy." - Barb Hicks, TheBestReviews.com
"Mara, Mikkarn and Kiril are all fascinating characters with well developed personalities. The emotional bond that develops between them is heartwarming. The sensual tension between the three sizzles and pops with a life of its own. The sex scenes are smoking hot and left me needing three cold showers. The setting is interesting and very nicely described. The plotline is fascinating and kept my eyes riveted to the pages. Ms. Karland is a talented author with a knack for creating sexy heroes that can leave a reader fanning herself. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys futuristic storylines. Forbidden 2: Neighborhood Watch is a great read that will reside on my keeper shelf for many years to come." - 5 stars, Susan White, JERR
"A titillating tale of true love and lust, NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH is packed full of enough sexual tension that readers might forget it's only sixty-five pages long." - Courtney Michelle, Romance Reviews Today
"Ms. Karland has created three strong characters, each with distinctive personalities and characteristics. This sci-fi erotica story is very risqu if you like a hot sci-fi erotica story then you should like the next in Marteeka Karland's Forbidden series." - Rogue Storm, Fallen Angel Reviews
"Ms. Karland has written a very interesting plot, and does a very good job of showing the characters' personalities and the emotional bond that develops between them. I especially like the voyeurism that the author added, not only was it very erotic to read and a major part of this story, but it shows her creativity."
"Neighborhood Watch is a steamy and alluring story in which three headstrong people try to fight the chemistry and lure for each other. I enjoyed it immensely and hope that Ms. Karland will write more stories in this world she has created." - Plot Factor 4, Pleasure Factor 5, Luisa, Cupids Library Reviews
Born on the Fourth of July
"Ms. Marteeka Karland has written a cute and endearing story full of the hopes and dreams of many a young woman in rural America. The plot line is plausible and the storyline flows easily to a satisfying conclusion. I enjoyed this romp through small town U.S.A." - 4 cups, Katherine L. Hunt, Coffee Time Romance Reviews
"Snappy, steamy and succinct, BORN ON THE 4th OF JULY tells the classic story of opposites who attract. Both smart and stubborn, Jake and Laura make a very interesting couple, but they'll have to find a way to meet in the middle before their passion can last a lifetime. Watching their prickly courtship makes for some lively, stimulating entertainment." - Sondrea Cash, Romance Reviews Today
"Firecracker: Born on the 4th of July was a spicy quickie that I vastly enjoyed reading. I was immediately drawn into Ms. Karland's wonderful characters. The drama between these two was electrifying and I found Jake and Laura to be a believable and likable couple. They fought and lusted after each other for many years before they finally acted on their desires. There were times where I found myself laughing out loud at Jake and Laura, while quickly catching my breath during one of their steamy, sexual encounters. If you are looking for a short, passionate story to add a little zing to your 4th celebration then Born on the 4th of July is the one for you." - 4 Stars, Contessa Scion, JERR
"BORN ON THE 4TH OF JULY is a very quick and enjoyable read. Ms. Karland does an excellent job setting up this story and establishing the characters in so few pages. I was impressed by how much is told of these two opposites who finally succumb to their desires in such a concise and fun way I felt like I knew the characters well enough and understood their teasing relationship The erotic scenes are rich and steamy. Ms. Karland does not skimp in describing their intimacies and emotions. This is a fabulous quick read - it will give you a nice pick-me-up" - Plot Factor 4, Pleasure Factor 4, Mariana, Cupid's Library Reviews
"With this short tale, Marteeka Karland demonstrates that she knows how to write an erotic romance - and write it well. The sex scenes are well detailed and explicit, though not beyond the realms of what we ourselves would engage in. Whilst the focus is on the physical, the element of romance is also intertwined. These two characters have had very deep feelings for one another for years, feelings that each has repressed and kept hidden, until circumstances force each to consider, and reconsider, just what, or rather who, they want. The only disappointment I found about this story is its length. You will wish it were longer, since it's so superbly written." - 4 Angels, Elizabeth, Fallen Angel Reviews

God of Fire
"Ok, I was told that this book sounded good and that I should look at it. Boy was I ever pleased when I followed my friend's advice. The sheer imagination that Ms. Karland has is absolutely amazing. She ties together a new mythology and a relatively new science and brings you a phenomenal world. Not only do you get a great story, but you also get a fabulous romance (with a little steamy sex thrown in). I don't think I'll hear I Feel the Earth Move by Carole King in quite the same way anymore. I can only hope that there will be more in The Elementals series." - Serena, Fallen Angels Reviews
"God of Fire delivers a blistering hot start to Marteeka Karland's new series, The Elementals. Pyros and Allison share a potentially explosive chemistry every time they meet. Will Chaos reign, or will this highly combustible couple be able to save the planet from a horrific natural disaster without sacrificing themselves in the process? You'll have to read God of Fire, as I did, to find out. I guarantee you won't want to miss a word of Marteeka Karland's latest masterpiece." - Kira Stone, author of Devil's Man
"Marteeka Karland's The Elementals: God of Fire is the first in what promises to be an intriguing paranormal erotic ride. In this book, we get to meet Pyros, the God of Fire, and the extraordinary woman that becomes his mate, Allison. We also get an introduction to the characters that will likely have their stories told in future installments, and the main story arc (the threat to Earth), unravels. [The romantic content] provided quick gratification and kept me anticipating what was going to happen next, which in turn now has me anticipating the future titles to be added to the series. I found the sexual encounters quite hot and satisfying. In short, if you are a fan of paranormal romance looking for something different and a quick "fix" you most definitely may want to give Ms. Karland's The Elementals: God of Fire a try. I certainly look forward to the next installments in this fascinating new series." - Mireya Orsini, Just Erotic Romance Reviews
"God of Fire is truly a wonderful paranormal that will drive the reader to find out what happens next. Mystical and exciting, Ms. Karland writes with much wit and prose as Allison and Pyros discover their love and the strength in it!! The storyline is an exceptional mixture of paranormal and action adventure that will keep the reader on the edge of their seats! Allison is a great character. Her strength is what draws Pyros as well as her affinity to that same fire. Always knowing the man behind the fire yet never knowing his name she helps him become even stronger in the coming battle with Chaos! Pyros is a sensual alpha male. Dominant and pure sexual maleness, he exudes his seductive power to Allison and made this reviewer swoon in delight! He is truly a woman's wet dream come to life! Together these two set the pages on fire with their highly sexual romps to control the fire that is determined to erupt! Ms. Karland writes with much flair and draws the reader in with her multidimensional characters, an exciting storyline and highly erotic sex. A new mythology that is tied to the elements and brings to the reader a new attraction of learning from them also! From beginning to end, this reviewer wants to know what happens next. Ms. Karland is a wonderful storyteller that draws the reader in with her descriptive writing and captured this reviewer's imagination. Run to grab the first in this highly charged new series and find out how seductive the God of Fire is!" - Dawn at Love Romances
"The sex scenes are as heated as the passion that Pyros ignites in Allison. And when Chaos gets between them, readers can only sit back and enjoy the chemistry that sets the pages aflame. If you like your paranormal stories with a touch of unexplained magic, Ms. Karland's God of Fire is well worth reading." - Belle Dessler, The Romance Studio
The Witching Hour
"I don't know when I've had such a goodtime reading a book. [Marteeka] will now be added to my "do not drink liquids when reading" list! I LMAO, the
sex was UBER HOT and all in all it was just FANTASTIC!!" - Emma Garrett - author of Heaven and Hell 1: Gabriel's Match
"Funny, desirable and filled with wicked pleasure, The Witching Hour will thrill your senses while raising your temperature. I thoroughly enjoyed reading about Hazel and Drake, their relationship antics had me laughing until I cried, while their sexy romps had me
reaching for a glass of cold water to cool me down. I loved Drake for his macho and caring behavior towards Hazel and I loved reading about Hazel and her inability to get anything right. Ms. Karland has written of characters that create a place where fantasy and pleasure combine to give readers' a fantastic story. I would love to read more about this hilarious world. So buy this book because it will give you an insight into a world that only exists in fantasy." - Sheryl, EcataRomance reviews 4.5 stars
"This is a fast moving work. Hazel and Drake's living situation in an apartment building full of senior citizens has the potential for some really funny moments, especially when Drake is caught naked after his change by one of the residents, there's a lot of life in that group yet. The lecherous sheriff is well done and gets his just desserts. This is a fun story with very hot love scenes." - Maura Frankman, The Romance Studio, 4 hearts
"Marteeka Karland has created a story filled with humor and romance for a witch and werewolf. The character of Hazel is adorable. Readers will be drawn to her instantly. Drake is a strong alpha male that has is not quite prepared for the true Hazel. The chemistry between them is electric and explosive. The story is riddled with the humor of a witch that can't quite get her spells right. I enjoyed watching this Halloween tale play out between Hazel and Drake. It was even more rewarding to witness Hazel's first spell that came out the way it was supposed to even if she didn't mean to do it. Readers will be left with a happy heart and big smile on their face from this story. The Witching Hour is a wonderful little paranormal romance of magic and giggles along the way. Marteeka Karland has done a tremendous job writing a story worth 5 Angels!" - Jessica, Fallen Angel Reviews
"All the characters in this book are a crack up! Hazel is a little scatterbrained and Drake reads just like your average guy. That is to say he's a little put upon by her bumbling and a lot horny-like I said, an average guy! The first time Hazel sees Drake turn into his werewolf self, she believes it's because of a spell she's cast. It's never clear to me whether he turned because of the spell or because of his own problems with Halloween, the blue moon and plain old lust. Either way, she keeps apologizing for turning him into a dog, which has Drake a little more than offended that she thinks he's a dog and not a wolf. The dialogue and even the secondary characters had me laughing all the way through the story, which I actually read in one sitting. The story flowed smoothly and swiftly. At the end the only additional thing I would like to have seen was interaction between Hazel and the coven. The coven is mentioned many times but we don't actually meet any of them in this story. The only thing I could have done without was the last sex scene. The author handles the scene with the same funny wit and rationalizes it within the witch/werewolf relationship. I won't go into it but let's just say that it crossed my personal "line in the sand" as far as erotica goes and it was a turn off for me. The other sex scenes were very hot and still funny in most places. Hazel is quite bold and demanding for a virgin. The Witching Hour is overall a very funny and steamy read for the extremely liberal-minded." - Joy Harrington, Just Erotic Romance Reviews
"The Witching Hour is an engaging tale from the first page. Hazel's antics made me laugh, while Drakes reactions to her kept me entertained. I love the world created with witches and werewolves and how they need one another to survive. The last scene of the book threw me a bit and I cannot decide if I like it or not. The unexpected twist is not for the timid. That said, Marteeka Karland kept me entertained throughout. I love to read paranormal and The Witching Hour is no exception." - Stacey Brutger, The Road to Romance
"The Witching Hour is funny, fast paced and I loved Hazel's quirkiness. Drake is the hot, hunk who happens to be a werewolf. Mix these two up and it is combustible. Thank you Ms. Karland for this feisty read." - Noemi De Leon
Goddess of Water
"Marteeka Karland brings about the much anticipated second offering of The Elementals Series. Goddess of Water introduces Jada as the goddess with Cronus and Raphael as her mates. We also see an appearance by Pyros, God of Fire, and his mate Allison, her friend Tiana, and Talon, the God of Earth. With the reappearance of characters from the first story it ties the whole series together in a believable way. One sees Jada's life as a goddess and her emergence as a full goddess with her mates and ability to help her world. The story is well written and leaves one waiting impatiently for the third installment." - Reader Review, Jeana
4 stars "Jada isn't aware of the full power she holds as the Goddess of Water. She doesn't yet feel a connection with her element. Abused by her priests, she also doesn't know love or pleasure. She has a fond attraction to Crones, who has made it his mission to protect and love Jada along with the help of Raphael. Cronos, a sensual character with a big heart, is a protective figure and mentor to Jada. Raphael is pleasing to the eye, dark, and extremely sexual-a powerful lover. The pages of this book scream with scorching sexual moments that seem to last forever. The jaw-dropping sexual explosions between these characters contributed to the high anticipation of what was to happen next. I was confused at times with all the pressing danger, but that may have just been because I was distracted by the heated love affair between these powerful characters. There was also plenty of arousing secondary characters that contribute to the development of this imaginative story. Full of strong, emotional connections, appealing characters, and heart-thumping, yet touching sex, The Elementals 2: Goddess of Water, is a fantastic read." - Morgan Grey, Just Erotic Romance Reviews
"You will not able to put down GODDESS OF WATER. The second book of The Elementals series, the story is absolutely intriguing. Ms. Karland describes the world of Atlantis as a magical, yet troubled place, with good and bad characters. I will never think of Atlantis quite the same way again. Jana herself is brave, altruistic and does not know her own power. She needs both Cronos and Raphael to reveal her strengths. Cronos and Raphael are opposites both in appearance and personality, but have what every woman needs in a man. Or in this case, in two men. GODDESS OF WATER is highly addictive and I didn't want the book to end. I will definitely seek out the first book in the series, GOD OF FIRE, and add it to my TBR pile." - Lynn Mullen, Romance Reviews Today
"This terrific story presents a refreshing new take on the mythical tales of Atlantis. The
way all four elements must work together to make progress enhances the plotline
admirably. As the plot progresses, information is revealed in a timely manner that kept
me totally enthralled. The undersea setting is hauntingly beautiful and makes a fitting
backdrop for this enchanting tale of love between three special individuals."
"This is a terrific book with a fascinating premise. The three main characters work well
together and have wonderfully complex personalities. The sensual tension between
them pops right off the pages. I especially like the way the ending sets the stage for the
next book in this series. I highly recommend The Elementals 2: Goddess of Water to
readers who enjoy tales of fantasy and the paranormal." - 4 cups, Susan White, CoffeeTime Romance
"The sexuality in this story between the principal characters is woven intrinsically into the plot; and characters from the other novellas in the Elementals series are brought in, but in such a way that this book can still be read as a stand-alone. Each main character is realistic, understandable, and the reader can empathise with each. I really enjoyed this book. It is the first of Ms. Karland's I've read, and it's made a convert of me. I anticipate reading the rest of this series, and all her other writings as well. 5 flags for an exciting story in which I immediately became involved with the characters and the plot, and 2 for sensuality: mnage, multiple partners, sex magick." - Annie of Euro Reviews
Forbidden 3: Sleeping with the Enemy
"This story held my interest from the first word to the last. It had me smiling and my eyes tearing. Both the main characters were strong and good for each other." - Reader review from Changeling website - Jill
"I liked this story. It was tightly plotted, making the most of the short story format, and the characterizations of Akahana and Taber were extremely well drawn. Ms. Karland's writing style is not ornate, yet she communicates the emotions and motivations of her characters very clearly. I was quite attracted to Taber, who came across as a kind, loving man in spite of his military profession, and could feel the emotions of Akahana as she progressed from an abused soul to a determined, self-possessed person who had the right to be happy." - Jean, Fallen Angels Reviews
"I really liked Forbidden 3: Sleeping With the Enemy. Marteeka Karland has written a tight futuristic, sci-fi, suspense, erotic romance short story with characters whose emotions are touching and their motivations are clearly understood. I empathized with what Akahana went through while I admired her courage. She endured absolute hell, yet still chose to save a child even knowing it meant her death. I completely understood Taber's rage and desire to take Gamin apart with his bare hands. And despite his being in the military, he is at heart a peace-loving man. Taber loves Akahana, showing kindness and patience, yet he does what's best for her even when she won't or can't. Their soul's mate connection along with their mind communication has a lot to do with sex play between the two of them. It's loving, explicit, erotic and downright HOT. And while I liked Ms. Karland's, Forbidden 3: Sleeping With the Enemy, I can't wait to read Alex and Doriena Mak'un's story. *grin* - 4/5 Stars, KayleeMarie Walker, JERR
"This story starts out with a rather graphic scene of violence but, fortunately, the entire plot is not full of the same. The characters are well drawn, the plot moves quickly, and the sex is very graphic. This is a gripping read." - Maura, Coffee Time Romance Reviews

In a Different Light
"Hot Flashes: In A Different Light is short story about making one last effort to have the one you love. Although this story can be read really quickly, it is a wonderful story to spend an hour or so reading before climbing into bed with the one you love. Leah and Kamar are both characters that value honestly yet haven't quite been honest with themselves. There is a delightful twist at the conclusion of this story that will leave readers smiling from ear to ear. The chemistry between the two of them might not have been immediate since they have spent years together, but when it happens it is explosive. Marteeka Karland has done a tremendous job creating a quick read mixed with emotions, passion, and some humor." - 4 Angels, Jessica, Fallen Angels Reviews
"In a Different Light by Marteeka Karland is a great quick read. This fast paced book is well written and developed. The science fiction aspects of the story are very low key, but help highlight this lovely tale. Ms. Karland did a fantastic job of building a different world full of passion and love." - Ophelia, Erotic-Escapades
"The ending was ingenious, funny and a tad unbelievable. I would have never guessed it in a million years. It made reading In a Different Light worthwhile." - Ann Lee, Just Erotic Romance Reviews
"I loved this story. It sizzles! Only Ms. Karland could put so much depth into her characters within the space limits of a Hot Flash. While IN A DIFFERENT LIGHT was complete and satisfying, I'd love to know more about these wonderful folks. Mikkal, Xandra, Kamar and Leah captured my interest and my heart. The trip through the nebula sounds fascinating. I'm hoping she'll feature them in a novel very soon. In the meantime, don't miss HOT FLASH! IN A DIFFERENT LIGHT. You'd never forgive yourself if you did." - 5 Hearts, Karen H., The Romance Studio
God of Earth
"This is my second book by this author, and I am anticipating reading the remainder of this series, and all of Ms. Karland's other books . "The Elementals: God of Earth is the third part of a series of stories and although you can read this book without the others, I think that you should read them in order. There are references all through the story about events that aren't fully explained. I think that it will add to the reader's enjoyment if they know the complete story. This book has an unusual premise and is quite enjoyable. It is a very quick read, so it will be great for a steamy afternoon at the beach or on the porch. The sex scenes are well written and flow very nicely. You will find yourself searching for the iced tea and air conditioner just to cool the fiery need the story builds. All of the characters are charming and endearing. Ms. Karland has done a wonderful job of developing her world and the creatures that inhibited it. I think you will enjoy this book very much." - 4 Stars, Oleta M Blaylock, Just Erotic Romance Reviews
Flash Dance
"The heated interactions between Mason and Sean were very hot. How Sean used the pole to accentuate his moves to entice the audience was very erotic. The looks that he gave Mason were possibly more than just meets the eye. Ms. Karland's descriptions of the club and the dancers, especially Sean, were clear enough to come alive for the reader." - Teresa, FAR
"Ms. Karland most definitely knows how to compose Sizzle! For a tiny story {only 16 pp.} this is cold-shower material for those who enjoy volcanic m/m, and the promise of more to come! I highly recommend it as a good read, and a rereader." - 5 Flags, Annie, Euro-Reviews

It is just so tightly written it is really hard to put down. Mason and Sean are like two hot tamales. Ms. Karland made the read almost seem like it was real opening up right in front of the reader. Forbidden 4: New Beginnings
"Marteeka Karland has written a romantic tale full of passion, love and eroticism. Alex and Bakac are both attracted to Alex's little sister, Doriena, who is not Alex's biological sister but was adopted by Alex's stepfather during the Earth Gothe'maran War. She has grown up with both men yet something has changed in the way she feels for them. The chemistry between the three of them is emotionally intense and downright hot. Doriena loves them both; Bakac for his patience, sensuality and understanding, and Alex for his honesty, arrogance and over protectiveness. The fear of losing Doriena makes Alex and Bakac quite likeable and realistic characters. Because they are dominant and sexually experienced men, it was nice to see Doriena surprising them at every turn. My favorite part of this tale is the way Alex and Bakac introduce Doriena to their playroom. Oh my, can you say meltdown! Toys are a definite must have! I enjoyed how the plot focuses on how Alex, Bakac and Doriena contemplate their emotions of becoming soul mates. The powerful emotional hurdles they all overcome kept me drawn to this tale. I enjoyed Doriena's parents, Anna and General Kahn, who provided a bit of comic relief. General Kahn made me laugh for his over protective nature. This is the first story I've read from Ms. Karland's Forbidden series and look forward to reading the previous stories. A definite keeper!" - Tallyn Porter, Just Erotic Romance Reviews
"Only in fantasy can one woman have two soul mates. I for one do not envy her that situation. I have a hard enough time keeping track of one man. However, Doriena handled it with the tenacity that was her personality. Alex and Bakac are both sexy, strong, sensual men that have all the experience in the world with seduction, and lucky Doriena has to be the one seduced. All that can be said about the sex: OH MY GOSH!!! Reading Forbidden 4: New Beginnings was like reading a manual on how to seduce your mate. The things these two hunky males did to her had me raring to go myself. However, it had to wait until her seduction was complete. And complete it was. Besides being a sexy as hell story, it also had an element of love that made my heart go pitter-patter. I found Marteeka Karland to be a very inventive writer, with a seriously great imagination, that definitely made me fan. This is the fourth installment in the series chronicling the Gothe-maran people, and if the others are as great as this one was, point me to them please!" - Stacey Landers, Just Erotic Romance Reviews
"Forbidden 4: New Beginnings is another in the incredibly erotic series involving the Gothe'maran. It is an adventure into the world of strong alpha males that believe that their place is to protect the female and that females are suppose to be submissive when it comes to pleasure. Characters face their fears and desires when they find themselves in a situation that some may not approve of and others may believe a situation totally forbidden. It is a story with incredibly steamy and erotic scenes of carnality involving the world of BDSM. I found this story passionately stimulating with a wonderful story with a full plot. The feelings of the characters are clearly expressed in dealing with the situation in which they find themselves. Forbidden 4: New Beginnings by Marteeka Karland is sure to be a hit with the readers and I highly recommend it for the readers' enjoyment." - 4 Hearts, Anita, The Romance Studio
Godess of Air
5 Flags "Apparently Ms. Karland keeps no boring stories in her Imaginative pile, because I certainly have not read one yet! Once again, from the first sentence the reader is catapulted into ice-bucket territory! If this story doesn't sizzle your innards, shiver your timbers, short out your battery-operated toys, and leave you wishing she could find more Elementals than these 4, then you just aren't human. Read it! Reread it! Read the entire series! Read everything she writes! You certainly will never be sorry if you pick up one of Marteeka Karland's gems!" - Annie, Euro Reviews
"The Elementals: Goddess of Air is the fourth and final novella in this series. It can be read and enjoyed as a stand-alone but I highly recommend reading the entire series from beginning to end. Marteeka Karland has once again blessed us with her ability to create strong, confident characters in intriguing storylines in unique worlds. She ties up any and all loose ends beautifully with this conclusion to the series."
"This story is a wonderful depiction of character growth; a great example of how the "outsider," the "bully," might not be as most perceive him/her to be; the kind of mistakes and misguided decisions we often make through fear; and the importance of trust and forgiveness in love and friendship. And of course, we cannot forget to mention the well-written, hot, sensuous sex."
"Personally, I will continue to read anything this creative author puts out." - Vicki Burklund-Proofing at Changeling Press
"GODDESS OF AIR and see what happens in the climatic ending that had this reviewer gasping in delight! Ms. Karland is an exquisite writer who will capture the imagination of her readers with the first page to the last and this entire series is highly recommended to be on your bookshelf!" - 5 hearts, Dawn, Love Romances
Jack-O-Lanterns: The Headless Horseman
'This short story would be perfect for someone who doesn't have a lot of time to read, but still wants to read something intense yet also full of depth. I found it very interesting and am really look forward to reading more of Ms. Karland's work." - 4 Angels, Heidi, Fallen Angels Reviews
Opposites Attract
"First off, Opposites Attract is just plain hot. Steven and Felina definitely have chemistry, and their love scenes are smoking hot! On top of that, Karland injects the story with ironic humor throughout the pages, which always increases my estimation of a book."
"Marteeka Karland is the kind of author that makes writing look easy. Her story reads naturally, as if she is simply retelling something that occurred, rather than creating, effectively making the reader feel as if they are part of the scene."
Opposites Attract is a fun little story that will heat up the chilliest winter night!" - 5 Shamrocks, Jennifer, CK's Kwips and Kritiques
"Ms. Karland has written a spicy tome full of paranormal beings and lusty animals from different species. Felina is a determined female yearning for her neighbor while unbeknownst to her, he is yearning for her. In this sexy tale differences are overlooked for the sake of love. This story shows you cannot discount the differences, they may be what make a relationship work. I was enchanted with this yarn." - 4 Cups, Kathy, Coffee Time Romance
Caught
4 blue ribbons from Romance Junkies
"The dynamic between these two very powerful characters is
scintillating. Zuri struggles with her need to control the situation
but can't help but be aroused with Cade's natural ability to take it
from her. Zuri may be seeking the bounty on Cade, but it feels like
Cade has caught her. The BDSM scenes aren't as much bondage as they
are the domination of one person by another and the arousal that can
result. Marteeka Karland taps into amazing arousal involved in another
person being dominant but not fully dominating. The switching of point
of view between Zuri and Cade gives great insight into each character
and how they are responding to the chemistry building between them."
"Hopefully Ms. Karland will write us a sequel to bring down the Agency for good!"
4 stars from JERR
"Caught was an enjoyably fast read of adventure and lots of hot and
sweaty sex! I want to be just like Zuri when I grow up. She did not
appear to come across as brass - she embraced her feminity and was still
able to kick major butt when needed. She just knew she had Cade as good
as captured, she prepared everything and while she knew he was sexy as
sin, she was not going to let that stop her from collecting him for the
Agency. Cade was my kind of man with a little robotics thrown in to keep
it interesting. I was surprised by how much I admired his confidence and
cockiness. The secondary characters were needed and kept the plot moving
smoothly. The sexual acts between Zuri and Cade were just out of this
world every time they came together. The sex wasn't filled with tricks
or toys, but just two dominant people out to master the other-
brilliant. I was sad to see this story end, thanks Ms. Karland!"
Werewolf Cove
5 lips from Two Lips Reviews
"Werewolf Cove is a wonderful short story by talented Marteeka Karland. Connor and Isabella are deeply in love, but Connor has been fearful of sharing his secret with her, afraid she would reject him. His plan to claim her will have you sitting in wet panties in no time at all! Well written and fast paced, Werewolf Cove is a story you will fall in love with!"
5 Angels and a Recommended Read from Terri R. at FAR
"Werewolf Cove by Marteeka Karland is a story of true love that is everlasting. Connor and Isabella must find that balance between lust and love. Black Star Stowaway
Niniri at Joyfully Reviewed
"I thoroughly enjoyed the sequel to Black Star Princess, and found Ms. Karland's new installment to be an enjoyable tale in its own right. Phoebe is spunky and smart. Surviving in the cult was no mean feat, yet she manages to land on her feet and find a place for herself in an unfamiliar setting. I enjoyed seeing her find well-deserved happiness and companionship in the arms of Damon Singh."
"Black Star Stowaway left me with a definite sense of satisfaction and will be a story I will enjoy re-reading in anticipation of the next episode in the Black Star series."
The Horseman: Alexander
By Niniri at Joyfully Reviewed
"I thoroughly enjoyed Alexander and the tantalizing view of a future world that echoes with relevance to the world of today. Ms. Karland has crafted a poignant tale of love, conquest that is emotionally gripping and engaging. One can be sure that I'll be rereading this and eagerly anticipating the next installment in The Horsemen series!"
From RRT Erotic
"Marteeka Karland's new series has a truly unique concept focusing on the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. With an idea like that, of course the future is bleak for mankind, indeed! With a plot dealing with the end of the world, a story needs strong characters and ALEXANDER has it. The three main characters are vividly drawn and complement each other's strengths and weaknesses. Alex's arrogance and focus is tempered by Heston's loyalty and Madeea's acceptance. The story is infused with an air of desperation that serves to emphasize the emotional turmoil between Madeea, Heston and Alex. Rushing into a shocking crescendo, readers will find the ending both poignant and satisfying."
"If you'd like to try something different, ALEXANDER is all that and more."
Taken By Surprise
From RRT Erotic
"Thrilling and erotic, TAKEN BY SURPRISE is short but certainly not sweet. Marteeka Karland does a good job of weaving story and sex together so they are evenly matched. Check it out!"
From Serena at Fallen Angel Reviews
"Marteeka Karland has more than outdone herself in this scorching read. Written in first person point of view of both characters, Taken by Surprise was amazing. To see both sides of the story, literally, made this story that much hotter and intriguing. Not only did I read this, but my husband did as well. I have never seen him sweat while reading, until now. Erin and Mike are faced with the darker sides of their personalities and Ms. Karland has crafted a scenario where they can both revel in it, and do they ever. The sheer eroticism in this story has reminded me why I continually seek out Ms. Karland's books."
Executive Decisions: By The Numbers
From Kimberley Spinney of eCataRomance
"Marteeka Karlandhas infused Executive Decisions with a witty humor and amazing sensuality that will have anyone reading this novel from beginning to end in one sitting. Ms. Karland has created a world that you just want to know more about. The depths that are only hinted at are tantalizing. There is so much to be found in this book that it must be read more than once."
The Horsemen: Boudica
From Julianne of Two Lips Reviews
"Ms. Karlands ability to pen a highly erotic scene involving three men and one woman is in evidence in this book. The twist also caught me off guard and was magical."
